10 Golden Decade Memes for 2024

There is nothing more powerful than a story whose time has come.

Our world is in need of a new story. A story that goes beyond the epidemic of incrementalism. A story more humbly audacious than institutional maintenance. A grand narrative that includes all life. United Planet has been crafting exactly this since the beginning of the decade. A planetary effort to flip the script. To boycott dystopia. To seed radical hope and enchant ourselves in the more beautiful future that our hearts know is possible.

Through the United Planet (UP) Game we have now filmed 156 days of the future with many hundreds of Gaians (planetary gamechangers) participating representing over 100 nations — This makes us the world’s largest positive story of the future. We have filmed thousands of hours of visions of the future, which we are using to train the Gaian AI as a benevolent civilisation design assistant as well as creating a TV series and planetary game to upgrade reality. To date, we have completed 26 UP Games throughout the world. We are committed to the infinite UP Game continuing to upgrade our future forever more.

Since 2020 United Planet publishes 10 Golden memes at the end of each year. This is part of the decade of planetary redesign that we are at the forefront of storying. The first 40 Golden Memes are being sent to the moon in January inside the Lifeship Pyramid onboard the Firefly Aerospace’s Blue Ghost Mission 1. On the moon these Golden memes will be as close to eternalised — lasting an estimated 3 billion years into the future.

I took some of the best short stories I’ve heard this year during 8 UP Games and created a shortlist that our community of Gaians voted on to created the following 10 Golden Memes for 2024:
